July 2010 - only 2 months behind, I am getting there!

Ray went to the National Scout Jamboree for 18 days. So we took off to Enoch to spend time with my parents. We stayed for a little over 2 weeks. We were all sure glad when Ray got back.  Most of these pictures are from our trip.  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for having us.  It was heavenly to not have to do much!

We went down to Enoch on the 22 of July.  Heather Joyner Prince was in town so we got together with her and Jessica at the Park.  My mom, Tennille and Kami came too.  It was fun to see them and meet Drake.

We had a Grimshaw FHE out at 3 Peaks.  It was a lot of fun!

3 Peaks picture.  Trent is holding iron ore, there was a lot out there to pick up and he loves to collect stuff like that.
Lunch with my wonderful friends.  Always so fun to chat with them!
.

This is what the kids spent a lot of time doing.  It was nice to have lots of 2nd cousins to play with.
Kyle decided to throw rocks/sand at me right as I tried to take his picture.  He is awesome!
Me and my mom up at grandma's cabin
My cousin Heather and her husband Steve and their girls.  I got to spend a lot of time hanging out with Heather watching the kids play outside at my parents.  Then one night we all went up to grandma's cabin and played some fun games.
The only picture I have of Ray at the "Jamboree" on my computer.  This is actually in Kirtland , the sister missionary is a grand daughter of a lady in our ward (Sister Watt).

The rest of June 2010

Well, I have some more pictures of our family vacation, but they are on Ray's laptop, and apparently it is to HARD to get them on to my computer and post on here. So we will move on with the rest of June.

Father's Day 2010
Ouch!
From my journal: June 29th, 2010
Kyle woke up from his nap and was happy and running around. I was making his lunch when I see him fall and heard his head hit the banister. He started to cry and I went to get him, Tyler says "he is bleeding" and the blood was running into his eye. I could tell it was a big gash. I didn’t know what to do. I grabbed a wash cloth, but he hated that I was putting it on his head. Trent said "should we call 9-1-1?" I said , no lets call dad. Ray said he would come home because to me it looked like it needed stitches. Ray got home and Kyle wasn’t crying anymore, but he either needed a butterfly Band-Aid or stitches. I called the pediatrician and they said to come right in. Ray took him in. First they put some numbing gel on it. Then they cleaned it, then numbed it again before stitching it. He is a feisty kid, and it took Ray plus 2 nurses to hold him down while the doctor stitched him up. He ended up with 5 stitches. They should desolve in 5 to 7 days, if not then I need to take him in. He is quite the funny little kid. The same day as the stitches he started saying, SHHH, and giving babies kisses, he won’t kiss me, but he kisses Kara’s little babies. I also told him to go hide in his room and he hid under his bed. He gets under there and waits for me to find him. He doesn’t really say much (as far as words go) When we ask a question and the other kids say "me", he says that too.  The older kids love to say "who wants to say the prayer?" and he raises his hand and says "me".

At least he is happy!

Old Hundred Mine, family vactation June 2010

We went on a fun tour of the Old Hundred Mine in Silverton, CO while on vacation this year with all of Ray's family.

Kyle was cute with his hard hat.  Once we got down in the mine we could take them off, but he didn't want to.

We had a lot of fun.  The kids got to pan for gold after the tour, but didn't find anything.

April 2010

What a joke!  I haven't posted since March, What the???  I want to have a record of what we did in 2010 so I am going to do posts for each month and hopefully stay on top of things.  These are a bit out of order.  I didn't even remember anything about April until I just looked through my pictures.  Looks like it's back to a picture blog.

Birthday gift from a wonderful friend, Suzette.  They came as bulbs with only a half inch of green poking up and bloomed.  They were a wonderful addition to my April, they smelled wonderful too!

We got a new table from IKEA.  I will have to find a picture of it all put together.  I love it!  But don't love all the dents and scratches that the kids have already put in it.  Good Heck!

Coloring Easter Eggs, both pictures ended up being blury!

Teacher Appreciation Door for Trent's Teacher Mrs. Williams.  I spent WAY to much time on this baby!

Last but not least, I turned the big 34!

How many posts can you do in a day?

I haven't posted for about a month, so I went a head and did 5 posts today. Check them out. I finished my 4th one and then went to check my settings and noticed that there is a new "editor" feature. I am so excited! You can upload multiple pictures at one time and move them around so much easier than the old way. NO more importing one at a time and having them all at the top messing with my spacing. Man, has anyone else been doing this? How long have I been in the dark on these awesome new features? If you are in the dark too, just go to the settings tab, towards the bottom is the "select post editor" and click on "new editor", next to it there is a "check out newest features" link and that explains a lot. OOOOh I just might update more often now :)

Spring is on it's way

The weather has been really nice lately. Well, it snowed a little yesterday, and snowed a week or two ago, but over all SPRING is on it's way. The day of this picture, it was nice, then snowed and then warmed up so the kids were out there and it was super warm.

Kara looks like the green goblin from spiderman here.

This one of Tyler makes me laugh. It is a beard that Tennille made for sharing time.
Tyler is doing good these days. He is still doing piano lessons, and enjoys it even though I have a hard time getting him to practice.
He just showed me today that he has a loose tooth. That is his first one.

Here comes Trouble . . . .

Kyle is Mr. Trouble at our house. He loves to climb on everything, especially chairs, and then up on to the table. When he gets to his climbing destination he usually does his celebration dance, where he moves his feet up and down, silly baby. It is kind of driving me crazy, he used to be able to roam the up stairs freely and stay out of trouble, but no more. It only takes him 30 seconds to run out of my sight and be up on the table. Little bugger!

He also loves to put his fingers in the toilet water. That's a first for our kids.

He loves sticks. He loves my broom handle, a painting broom handle and other random stick like items. He carries them around and occasionally hits Kara with them.

He falls down WAY more often than I remember any of the other kids falling. He also doesn't seem to catch himself very well because he always hits his head. Last Sunday, Ray took the kids on a walk, Kyle tripped and skinned up his head. Then he came home and was trying to stand on an empty baby food plastic bowl and toppled down right on the exact spot he had scraped up, it immediately turned into a goose egg. Then the next day he tripped again and got several more bruises by his eye and the goose egg, he seriously looks abused. Poor baby!

This picture illustrates the bruise/goose egg well.

He is funny though. He loves to dance to any music, including the hymns at Church.

He just started saying uh-oh and it is super cute.

Celebrate

Kara is potty trained. Hallelujah! I never thought the day would come.

We are going on almost two weeks and she is doing great.

Here is the low down.

On Saturday I went to buy diapers at Walmart and they were out of the size 4 diapers that I usually get. I tried again on Monday and they were still out. (side note this drives me crazy about Walmart, they will run out of things and be out for weeks, what is up with that?) I still had 10 or so diapers. I told Kara that we were out, she kept "skidding" in her diaper and I knew a big one was coming, so I told her she had to wear panties and go in the toilet, to which she CRIED. She wouldn't put anything on, Tyler was making fun of her, so I whispered to her that we don't let other people see our private parts and that she should put on some underwear. She put some on then a few minutes later she said she needed to go potty. We went in the bathroom and she went #1 and #2 in the toilet! This was the first time for her, I think she finally realized what it felt like. I tried to make a big deal out of her being a big girl, and she has done awesome ever since.

My only problem NOW is she thinks she gets a candy EVERY TIME she goes, still. At first I was fine with it, plus we had saved her Halloween candy (I told her a while back that she couldn't have any candy until she went to the bathroom in the toilet) But now she comes up to me all day and says I went pee in the toilet I get a candy.

John's home

My little brother , John, came home in February from a mission to the Czech Republic. I took Kara, Trent and Tyler with me to the airport with my siblings and parents. He got there around 11:30 p.m. It was exciting to see him after two years of being gone.

The next morning we went to breakfast with everyone, then I loaded up the kids and drove down to Enoch. The boys were excited to miss school.

Saturday night I got together with my lifelong friends. Suzette was in town too. It was fun to visit with everyone.

John spoke on Sunday and did a really good job. Afterward, there was a big dinner at my parents. Church was late, then the dinner so we didn't get out of there until 4 p.m. , by then it had started to snow. Everyone tried to talk me into staying until Monday, but I just decided to go anyway. I followed Mike and Ashlee. There were quite a few cars that had slide off the road. We had looked online and it said that the storm would end after Cove Fort. We stopped in Fillmore, but I told Mike and Ashlee to keep going. We got some food, and I nursed Kyle who was having a fit. Then we got back on the road and the storm was even worse , when it should of been over. I just went slow and Mike called me a few times to warn me about a few rough spots, it was crazy snowy and dark on top of that. We made it home okay, just took an extra hour.

Scouts and the Blue and Gold

I am so far behind. Here is some of what we have been up to for the last month.

We have been to two cub scout pack meetings. At Trent's first one they had him come up and they "branded" him. You can't really see it that good, but it was a big CUB stamp thing that they dipped in chalk, then for the cheer everyone "sizzled". Pretty creative, got to love scout cheers.

The Feb. one was the blue and gold banquet. They had a super yummy dinner and the kids all had so much fun.

The cub master had put all these balloons up in a sheet behind the basketball standard, then he pulled a string and it all came down on the kids, they loved it.
