Its a Boy! (not really a suprise; we already knew that)

Teri had our baby boy at 1 this afternoon. We took some pictures, but I left the camera at the hospital with Teri. Kyle is such a good boy so far. He has been very easy going, and so far has been blessed with good health. Teri also is doing great. I am sure this was the easiest delivery we have had, which probably makes up for the difficult pregnancy that it was for Teri. Anyway, Kyle was born 8.2 lbs and 21 inches tall/long (I guess in the hospital it is long since he is laying down when they measure him, but really, when was the last time you told someone how long you are). We called all the aunts and Uncles and let the grandpa on my side know. Teri's parents are somewhere in the middle of the pacific (in a boat of coarse), so they will not get to talk to Teri until Wednesday or Thursday when they get back to land. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, and I do not have a picture to post, I guess I will have to make this post a thousand words to make up for it.....not!

I am sure I will put some pictures up tomorrow. Thanks for all those who have wished Teri well thtough this process. She has really been blessed with so many friends and helpers. Especially those that helped us this morning and today (that counts you too Randy).

Now, I must go see what it takes to get the kids to bed without Teri's help. I am sure that I am in for a surprise. Or maybe the kids are.

Here’s the scoop

A couple of weeks ago my doctor said that he wouldn’t let me go over 39 weeks, so last week at my appointment he scheduled me to be induced on January 19th (a week from tomorrow!) CRAZY. I have my last appointment tomorrow, and unless my NST is weird then I will deliver on the 19th. So, my mom usually comes and tends the kids, but her and my dad are on a cruise to Hawaii with my dad’s siblings and my grandma. They get back on the 21st. Tennille (my sister) is going to watch the kids while I deliver and am in the hospital. Monday is actually a holiday, so they will be out of school which makes it a little easier. My mom will come up on the 23rd so that will be good.

Things on the basement are coming along. They delivered the doors and trim last Wednesday and finished up on Friday. Ray spent Friday night all day Saturday puttying the holes and caulking the trim and doors. He also got the closet in the boy’s room caulked and primed. Hopefully next week he can get everything painted. We picked out our carpet and ordered it, but it is backordered, so it might not be installed before this baby gets here, which is fine. I wish I could help out with the painting and prep work, but it’s a little hard with my giant belly and painting probably isn’t the best thing for me to be doing so close to delivering.

Backtracking –
We had a good Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve with Ray’s parents, I made my version of Costa Vida/ CafĂ© Rio and it turned out really good. Ray and the boys ended up watching Narnia on T.V. while I wrapped presents back in our room. Christmas morning the kids were excited and liked everything they got. The Wii had some problems, it kept freezing up in the middle of a game. At first we thought it was the Lego star wars game, but as the day progressed it happened with every game and we decided it was the actual console. I was bugged, and I hoped that it would be returnable since I didn’t buy any kind of warranty. We ended up taking it back a few days after Christmas and they put the money on a giftcard. They are STILL out of stock. I call every week and they don’t know when they will get another one in. Hopefully by Easter we will have one, if not looks like we will get it for Christmas next year????

We had a Christmas dinner here on Christmas day with all of Ray’s family and a gift exchange. (Everyone but Brad , he had to work). Randy and Keri had us and they gave us books of our pioneer ancestry that Keri compiled (and spent hours and hours doing) They are very neat. I never realized how many ancestors I have that are actual pioneers (definition= "pioneers are those men and woman who came to Utah by wagon, hand cart, or afoot between July 23, 1847 and December 30, 1868, before the railroad.") I have 26 direct line ancestors. Ray has 36. Anyway, it was a very awesome gift to receive (thanks again Keri and Randy!)

I have just been trying to get things wrapped up for this baby to come. We still have not decided on a name but plan to this week. I also am trying to finish training my replacement at work and working on getting all the year end items done so I can be done. I also have a payroll to do before this baby comes and all the year end quarterlies and W-2’s – busy ,busy!

Well, hopefully Ray can post the details of the delivery while I am in the hospital, if not then I will when I get home.
